Free Rise
Surprisingly no more comment or question for the first brew. I do have one for fermentation. The recipe I am using calls for "Ferment at 67°F (19°C) for the first day of activity, then allow the temperature to free rise to 72°F (22°C)." When setting up the fermentation recipe, I don't see ...

Re: Several Random Questions for BIAB
Thanks Bernhard. I added the manual steps. Those did the trick so far. I am doing my first brew with the full step now. Suggestion: Can the remaining time for the current step be added to the left of the stop/next step buttons? With all the manual steps added the mash and mash out steps are down off...

Several Random Questions for BIAB
Good evening Bernhard, I am finally getting back to testing my setup. Though I have another bad Power Regulator. Damn Chinese parts are garbage. I did manage to run through a few test brews for BIAB and have a few questions: 1. How do you pause to add the malt bag once at temperature? 2. How do you ...

Re: Displaying multiple temps on Pi
Sorry for the delay. I wanted to do the test brew to put this all in context. The additional "generic" sensors for a device would be helpful I think. That would depend on how the data from the sensor is displayed on the screen. I could see that working well with multiple temp sensors like ...

Re: Displaying multiple temps on Pi
The question I would have for either option would be how/where is the transfer temperature display on the Pi 7" display? I plan to run a test brew this weekend so I will be able to see what data is displayed at Mash, Boil, Transfer and Fermentation.

Displaying multiple temps on Pi
Bernard, I haven't even tried my pi once yet and already need to add to it. Forgot a temp sensor for the chiller plate, LOL. When you have multiple temperature sensors does the Pi GUI show them all? If not when I program my recipe, if I change the sensor will the current/target temp change to that n...

Displaying Gravity during Automatic mode
Bernard,
Is there a way to have gravity show in the default display when fermenting via Automatic mode? All I see in the Pi 7in display is temperature.
Thanks,
ChuckG

Re: Adding an SCR to Pi Brick
The part I am using looks exactly like the UI on the no-shutoff version of the device from your link. It is the one Doug/Crafthardware recommends. I should have been clearer. The SCR is inside my Pi brick case. So I will control the relay from the pi4. I have: In a single lock version of cabinet (fr...

Adding an SCR to Pi Brick
Bernard, I am building out my Pi for a BIAB system using crafthardware.de equipment based of your PI Brick blog and YouTube. One change is the need to reduce power to the heat to support the steam condenser. Here is the SCR I got: SCR Electronic Voltage Regulator Governeur 4000 W Digital Speed Contr...

Re: Tilt payload to Bierbrick cloud
Well Tilt-Pitch was a bust when I switched from the simulator to my actual Tilt. It uses beacontools, which has a bug with RPI 4. The bug prevents scanning. All attempts to update this and that lead to other known issues. So, after hours of digging and testing I landed on Tilty (pip3 install tilty)....
