Hi Bernhard,
Just a quick note about the interface design.
When in automatic mode I find the rapidly sliding blue bar, that indicates that the session is live, to be distracting and unnecessary.
Could it be replaced with a simple smaller flashing light for example? Others may like it, this is just my observation.

thanks for bringing this up! Honestly, I'm not super satisfied with this hysterically moving bar either. Some background: The "bar" has four states:

1. step not the active step => no bar
2. step active, but set temperature not yet reached => hysterically moving
3. step active, manual condition for next step => solid blue
4. step active, timed condition for next step => percentage of how much time is moving.

1, 3, 4 and for are IMHO OK / good (4).

How would you like if the bar would be like this in case #2: https://codepen.io/BernhardSchlegel/pen/oNpqOWG. Faster / slower?

If you have these changing colors, I would keep it as it is.

Option 4 with the percentage would be great.

However, I'm also fine, If it stays like it is. Although I'm brewing right now, I do not look at it all the time. So no prob with hysteric movings.

Changed it from hysterically sliding to slowly blinking!
