Good Evening,
I am getting an error when trying to flash a THR320D. The recommend flash software is reporting an error communicating and recommends lowering the speed. I have taken it down to the bottom speed 115200 with the same error though it does seem to start flashing. I accidentally started with the FT232R set to 5V. This is also my first time ever trying to solder. I'm assuming its my bad solder causing the error.
Thanks,
ChuckG
Error communicating with SonOff while flashing
Re: Error communicating with SonOff while flashing
Hi ChuckG,
not snugly fitting rainbow cables or really bad soldering can cause connection issues here (voltage in the cable is switched from 0 to 3.3V mutliple thousands of times per sec). But I'd blame it more likely on the rainbow cable connection or that you roasted the ESP32 with 5V, soldering has to *really* bad to have an effect.
Happy to look at your pictures to search for an error if you want to post your setup.
A very common mistake is to connect RX to RX and TX to TX instead of RX-TX and TX-RX.
Please let me know how you resolved it!
Cheers and good luck,
Bernhard.
